Self-Care Morning Rituals
Let’s start a new tomorrow, today! The way you spend your mornings sets the tone for your whole day.
In fact, research has shown time and time again that having a consistent morning routine can increase your focus, mood, and creativity. Set yourself up for the day with an impactful self-care routine to help improve each of these things.
What will you do today to help create your future success? Start by jotting down a few new self-care rituals which compliment how you want to feel each day. A few examples could be:
Prepare The Night Before
Get a head start on the next day by prepping each night before. This could be having your coffee maker ready to go, your skincare items set out, or just having the dishes washed so you can wake up with a fresh slate.
Tidy Up Your Bed & Sleep Space
Getting into the habit of making your bed will help keep you grounded in your morning routine. Not only that, but a made bed can instantly make a room look cleaner, which can be good for mental health, especially if you work from home.
Don’t Pick Up Your Phone As Soon As Your Eyes Open
It’s become a habit for some to roll over and pick up their phone as soon as they open their eyes. Sadly, staring at the screen first thing can induce stress and a heightened sense of being on edge for the day. This can easily be avoided by keeping your phone in the other room at night and using a normal alarm clock to wake up if needed.
Do Something That Lifts Your Mood
Each person’s idea of enjoyment differs, so whether it’s a cup of coffee, stretching your body, washing your face, or writing down your goals, make time each morning to do something that will create a positive mindset.
Set intentions
Get clear on what it is you want to achieve. Say it out loud. Put it in the universe and let it be known that this is what you plan to manifest – whether it’s simply for just today, tomorrow, or in the future. These things will take work and dedication, so be sure it’s what you love and are willing to do for your future success.
Create a schedule
Block out times to work on these things. Make it part of your weekly schedule and make a habit out of doing them so that it becomes natural for you to just do it. Stay present and remain realistic in planning your time. Only allow yourself to do what you can and not overdo it to the point that it no longer brings you joy. The more consistently you follow your schedule, the more prepared you will be for a successful day.
Be Prepared for Obstacles
Not everything always goes according to plan. Expect that things may come in the way of your goals at times, but that should not stop you from reaching them. Stay humble and remember your why.
Once you’ve got your self-care routine drafted, put it into practice! Some say practice makes perfect… but you don’t want to be perfect. You want continuous growth and success as you journey through this life.
And what you do today can ultimately create the future you see for yourself – and the one that you deserve.
Imagine where you could be one year from now if you started right this moment. Start today by creating healthy, productive habits in your daily routine.
