Journaling For Success –
What Does Success Look Like?
A healthy mindset paves the way for success in your life, business, career, relationships, and everything in between. But when we’re entrepreneurs, we often struggle with limiting beliefs that we’re not enough or that we’re not qualified enough to be charging for our services and skills. I’ve heard many of these thoughts as a coach, but the following two are some of the worst offenders for new entrepreneurs. It’s time to squash these!
“I don’t have enough certifications or degrees to have authority in my field.”
This thought…. Is the exact result of our generation’s struggles. We have been told that we must go to college to have a good career. So, it’s only fitting that we think this way when starting a profession. But, it’s not the truth. At least, it doesn’t have to be.
If you think you’re unqualified, you’ll definitely come across that way. But what if you shifted your thoughts to ones like:
👉🏻 “I can charge $X because of the value that I’m bringing to my clients, not my # of years in business.”
👉🏻 “I can create a profitable business that aligns with my life experience and education.”
👉🏻 “My passions can help others’ businesses grow and create sustainable income for myself.”
Things seem a little more possible now, right? Because they are. Because you are enough.
So the next time you find yourself saying you don’t have enough certifications, I challenge you to do this mindset shift instead, and say: “As I continually learn and grow in my field, my personal and professional experience is already enough to get started and to add value and support the people who have not had the results I’ve had.”
“I can’t charge $X because I’m still new in my business.”
Uhhh, who said?
It’s true, earlier on in your business journey you might find you charge less, BUT, you don’t want to start out your business with a lack of confidence that makes you feel like you can’t charge for the value you will be providing! What you have to offer isn’t just a product or service – it’s your time, your energy, your skills, all of it.
That mindset will have you comparing yourself to every other coach/consultant/online service provider out there, which will affect how you show up and how confident you are in yourself. When really, you should be directing your thoughts in a more productive way. This is when you should swap these thoughts with ones like, “My customers are receiving true, measurable value from my work.”
Once you find your confidence, you’ll find that anything is achievable!
Tapping into your confidence to create your second income stream.
I once read this quote by writer Arthur C. Clark, “The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.” You already know what you’re capable of… just look how far you’ve come. Maybe you’re considering going farther, but it’s hard to know if you’ll be able to make it.
You have the choice to change your life and unlock the potential to grow more than you could ever imagine. And it all starts in your thoughts. Your thoughts lead you to a point of comfort where you can just still see that boundary line without stepping over it.
If you changed your thoughts, where would your mind take you?
I can sit here and tell you it’s possible, but until you choose to MAKE it possible, that is when I can help guide you over the boundary and into freedom.
